The Academy was set up at IIT Guwahati under the “Financial Assistance for setting up Electronics and ICT Academies” scheme by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 19 January 2016.
The Academy provides skill training to faculty members (both engineering & non-engineering) in emerging trends in engineering and ICT applications. It develops specialized training modules to enhance employability and capacity building in Electronics & ICT.
Conducted 300+ Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) over 8 years. Trained 18,000+ participants through conventional classroom teaching and NKN virtual classroom mode, primarily in North Eastern states and beyond.
